For whatever reason, Canada was passed up for the first-generation Microsoft Zune. Even through they’re a little late to the party, Canadians will soon be welcomed to the social, right alongside their neighbors to the south. The second-generation Microsoft Zune, which has been selling in the United States for a few months now, is available in three models and all three of these are heading to Canada a little later this year.
As you may recall, the first-gen Zune was only available as a 30GB brick and it was one of the clunkiest MP3 players that I have ever used. The “double shot” finish was a little different, but I found the user interface to be a little awkward and the sheer size of thing was a definite turnoff. Thankfully, the new 80GB version is a little slimmer and the usability is vastly improved. Better still, Microsoft has nano-sized versions this time around too, in the form of the Zune 4GB and Zune 8GB.
I had the chance to take the Zune 80 for a test drive and I have to say that it’s a vast improvement over its predecessor. Read on to find out more.
