Many students discover they don’t feel comfortable writing a story, especially if they’ve never written a narrative before. However, there are several different types of essay outlines available, including narrative, topical, and character based. A story may be a personal encounter, such as a student’s profession, workshop, or experience in a particular location or time. Or a narrative could be dependent on something a student has read, viewed, or heard. Themes in a story can be like those found at a thesis statement, as both rely upon general information about the world.
