A computer mouse is often overlooked when it comes to a point of
purchase. In fact, after spending thousands
of dollars on a brand new spanking new PC system, why should I dish out a sizeable sum on
a computer mouse? Times are changing
and this attitude seems to be a thing of the past. Just
take a look at the latest offerings from Logitech and Microsoft
Todays current generation of mice enables the user to operate
their computer programs in a more reliable and efficient manner. Everyone wants to enjoy their surfing
experience with ease, and the last thing a user wants to do is to fight with their mouse. In more competitive environments, gamers want a
mouse that will be accurate, and smooth in order for them to stay competitive. It certainly doesnt feel great when you lose
that important deathmatch because your mouse is skipping or making you run into walls. Logitech and Microsoft have done their homework
and listened to our complaints as shown by their top offerings in mice technology, but
which one is the better of the two? Youll
soon find out
The Logitech Cordless Mouseman Wheel
The Logitech Cordless Mouseman Wheel is
a product that offers a great combination of performance and comfort. Through the use of low frequency radio
waves, coupled with a receiver directly attached to the computer, the cordless ability of
this mouse becomes a reality. Other cordless
innovations, like infrared technology, can vary in performance because direct aiming is
required to make the set up to work. The
Cordless Mouseman Wheel uses radio frequencies so signals can bounce of walls and objects.
This mouse comes in a four-button
configuration that includes a thumb button alongside the normal button-wheel setup. In terms of compatibility, the Cordless
Wheel is available in either serial or PS/2 ports. A
triple A Battery is also required for the mouse to work. Logitech have garnered a reputation for
producing quality-performing mouses and this Cordless product is no different. As far as gaming is concerned, Logitech has long
been a sponsor of The Professional Gamers League (PGL). Now thats dedication to performance!

The Microsoft Intellimouse
Explorer
The Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer is a funky
looking mouse that performs better than it looks. As
many of you probably know, the Intellimouse is a revolutionary mouse design that
incorporates IntelliEye technology. An
optical sensor is used to scan surfaces 1500 times per second, thus improving feedback and
accuracy. This mouse can be used with or
without a mouse pad. It can also be used on
most flat surfaces as well. The Intellimouse
also gives out a fine reminiscent glow when in use. By
looking at its bottom, you will see the inner workings of a product very different from
the competition. Maintenance issues will also
be a thing of the past due to the fact this mouse uses no moving parts. There will be no issues related to cleaning the
interior or taking out the ball. With a
five-button configuration, the IntelliMouse offers two additional side buttons along with
the three button-wheel setup. Available in
PS/2 or USB configurations, this glowing red wonder stands out from the rest of the pack,
but is it good enough to take on The Logitech Cordless Mouseman Wheel?
